Meanwhile, there has been speculation and rumour in the far-east that China may seek to invade Taiwan while the United States is distracted by the 2020 election.  Experts in Taiwan, however, say that no troop mobilizations have been observed.  Nevertheless, such speculation illustrates current geopolical anxieties in the Pacific sphere.  Are Americans even aware that Taiwan's sovereignty is under increasing threat?
