UEFA Champions League is a yearly held soccer competition in Europe. The participating teams are required to qualify first to compete. Some procedures apply for each league. The leagues with a high coefficient get to represent more teams in the competition. For example, the top four spots in the Italian, English, and Spanish league are granted a spot in the group stage. The top three spots in the German league and the top two spots in the French league also get to take part in the organization. The tournament starts in September with 32 teams. After the group stage is completed, the seeded teams move on to the next round which is the round of 16. Starting with a round of 16, there is an elimination process. The round of 16 is followed by the quarter-finals, semi-finals and then the final.
The 2019-2020 Champions League season was delayed in March, mid-way through the round of 16. Only half of the teams in the round of 16 played their games after the league was paused by the officials. The league continued during the summer. The board members made a crucial change in the procedure. Instead of games being played in two legs, one-leg. The games were played in Portugal with empty stadiums.

Lazio, FC Bayern Munich, Atalanta, Real Madrid, Monchengladbach, Manchester City are all the teams that qualified for the round of 16.
Games will be played in mid-February. The Champions League final is expected to occur in mid-May. Istanbul is the city that will host the 2020-2021 Champions League final.
